Shipping Policy

Last updated 14 July 2025

1. Overview

At Saints of Steel, each sculpture is handcrafted with care, precision, and artistic intention. Due to the bespoke nature and size of our work, shipping logistics are handled with extra attention. This policy outlines how we manage the delivery of your purchase and what to expect when ordering from us.

2. Shipping Costs

All shipping costs are the responsibility of the client.

We do not offer free shipping, as each sculpture varies significantly in size, weight, and destination. Shipping fees will be quoted separately once your order or commission is finalised.

Clients are welcome to arrange their own courier, provided all transport details are communicated and confirmed with us in advance.

Please note: All customs duties, import taxes, and clearing fees are also the responsibility of the client. These charges vary depending on the destination country and must be settled by the recipient directly with the relevant authorities or courier service.

3. Delivery Locations

We ship locally within South Africa and internationally. Shipping availability is subject to regional courier coverage and customs regulations.

  • For local deliveries, we work with trusted courier services with experience in handling delicate and high-value items.

  • For international orders, delivery times and customs charges may vary depending on the destination country. These additional charges (e.g. import taxes, duties, handling fees) are not included in our pricing and are payable by the client.

4. Packaging and Handling

Your sculpture will be securely packaged to ensure safe transit.

  • All artworks are padded, wrapped, and crated where necessary to protect them during shipping.

  • Special packaging requirements (e.g. wooden crates, insurance, temperature sensitivity) may incur an additional fee, quoted on request.

5. Dispatch Timeframes

Because our sculptures are made to order or limited edition, dispatch time may vary.

  • In-stock pieces are typically dispatched within 5 to 10 business days after payment confirmation.

  • Commissioned works or personal castings may take 4 to 8 weeks for production before dispatch, depending on complexity and casting schedule.

  • You will receive confirmation of estimated delivery time once your artwork is ready to ship.

6. Tracking and Insurance

Once shipped, you will receive:

  • A tracking number, if available

  • Courier contact details

  • Recommended insurance options (especially for high-value items or international shipping)

While we do our utmost to ensure secure delivery, insurance is strongly recommended and remains the responsibility of the client.

7. Damages During Shipping

We take great care in packaging, but should your sculpture arrive damaged:

  • Please notify us within 48 hours of delivery with detailed photos of the packaging and sculpture

  • We will assist you in filing a claim with the courier service

  • Saints of Steel is not liable for damage caused in transit, and no refunds or replacements will be issued without proof of shipping insurance

8. Returns & Exchanges

Due to the artistic and custom nature of our work:

  • All sales are final

  • We do not accept returns, exchanges, or offer refunds unless the item arrives severely damaged and the return is pre-authorised

  • In such cases, return shipping is at the client’s expense, and must be arranged within 7 business days of receiving the item
